Obituary of Mary Ann Yakes

Mary Ann Siskoski Yakes, 87, of Manasquan, passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at the Laurelton Village Care Center. Born and raised in Wilkes-Barre, PA and formerly of Irvington and Hillside, she has lived in Manasquan since 1976. A homemaker, Mrs. Yakes had been an avid bowler and communicant of the Church of Saint Martha, Point Pleasant. Her greatest achievement was her family. She was predeceased by her husband, Jack Yakes and by her daughter, Michele Hoffman. Surviving are her son, James Yakes and his wife Marlene of Point Pleasant; three daughters, Jean Marie Yakes of Manasquan, Evelyn Hendershot and her husband Paul of Barnegat, and Jackie Fair and her husband Ray of Point Pleasant; eight grandchildren, Jamie, Tracy, Christopher, Tammy, Julie, Nichole, Jon, and Megan; and six great-grandchildren, Donovin, Victoria, Ashley, Rileigh, Taylor, and Cody. Relatives and friends may visit from 6 - 9 p.m., Friday, July 9 at the Pable - Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 9 a.m., Saturday, July 10, Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Martha Church, followed by entombment at Saint Catharine Cemetery Mausoleum, Sea Girt.
