Obituary of Carl S. Shaffer
Carl Stanley Shaffer, 87, of Manahawkin, passed away, Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune.
Born in Milford, he lived there, summering in Manahawkin and Long Beach Island since 1959, eventually moving there full time.
Carl was a retired vice president of Little Falls Savings and Loan, Milford, Frenchtown, and Mount Holly.
A United States Army veteran, he was a member and past master of Darcy Lodge, No. 37, F.&A.M.; and member of the B.P.O. Elks, Lodge No. 2340, Manahawkin.
He was predeceased by his parents, Samuel W. Shaffer and Eva Pursell Shaffer; three sisters, Dorothy Woolf, Emma Hinkle, and Loretta Suydam; and by his nephew, Edgar Woolf.
Surviving are his sister, Barbara Kulp of Milford; his nephews, Douglas Kulp, Chester Kulp, and Donald Suydam; and his niece, Gloria Jean Broadhecker.
At 11:30 a.m., Monday, July 19, a graveside funeral service will be held at the Riegelsville Union Cemetery, Riegelsville, PA. There will be no calling hours and those attending the service may meet directly at the cemetery.
