Obituary of Margaret Powell

Margaret "Peggy" McWhirr Powell, 94, of Point Pleasant, passed away, Tuesday morning, August 3, 2010 at her home. Born in and formerly of East Orange, she has lived in Point Pleasant since 1973. Mrs. Powell worked for NJ Bell Telephone and later as a supervisor for Kresge/Chase-East Orange Store. She was predeceased by her parents, John F. and Marie McWhirr and by her beloved husband, Horace "Dick" Powell. Surviving are her daughter, Marilyn Powell of Point Pleasant; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may visit from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m., Thursday, August 5 at the Pable - Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 10:30 a.m., Friday, August 6 a service will be held at the funeral home followed by entombment at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River.
