Obituary of Walter L. Krebs

Walter L. Krebs, of Brick, passed away, Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood. He was born in Newark to Wilhelmina and Walter Krebs and lived in Metuchen and Fords before moving to Brick in 1963. Walt had been employed by Chevron Oil Co. and later by Ciba-Geigy Corp., Toms River, retiring as manager of telecommunications. He enjoyed many camping and fishing vacations with his family and was a loyal fan of the NY Giants and NY Mets. He was a veteran of the US Air Force, stationed in Germany, and was a recent member of the American Legion. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, and his sons, Gary (Kim) of Brielle, Robert (Patti) of Brick, and Kevin (Linda) of Grayslake, IL. Also surviving are his sisters, Margaret Bowden of Freehold and Marie Sheehan (Martin) of N. Middletown, and their families; sisters and brothers-in-law, Robert and Claire Savino of West Long Branch, Stanley and Louise Karr of Brick, and Richard Gallop of West Long Branch; as well as by several nieces and nephews. He was "Poppy" to his special treasures, grandchildren Kyle, Emily, Allison, Bobby, James, Natalie, and Ryan. Friends may visit from 6 - 8 p.m., Friday, September 17 at the Pable - Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road, 732.899.3300. At 10:30 a.m., Saturday, September 18 a graveside service and interment will take place at Saint Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.
