Obituary of Marion C. Lucas

Marion Woolhouse Lucas, 73, of Point Pleasant, passed away on Thursday, September 16, 2010 at Ocean Medical Center, Brick. Born in Manchester, England to the late Jack and Clara (nee Chester) Woolhouse, she made her journey to America aboard the R.M.S. Queen Elizabeth II in 1955. She lived in Hamilton Square and moved to Point Pleasant in 1965. For twenty-five years, Marion worked as a server for Jack Baker's Lobster Shanty, Point Pleasant Beach. She loved gardening, knitting, bicycle riding, and was an avid Upwords and Scrabble player. A loving mother, surviving are her three children, John Lucas and his wife Tracey of Brick, Jeffrey Lucas and his wife Donna and Denise Alderman and her husband Bruce, all of Point Pleasant; and two sisters, Christine Williams and Molly Scholey. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Danielle, Ian, Hannah, Kyle, Jake, Megan, Kristin, and Jeffrey Jr.; and by her longtime companion, Steve Dougherty which complete a legacy of love and devotion. Friends may visit from 2 - 6 p.m., Saturday, September 18, at the Pable - Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road, 732.899.3300, where at 6 p.m., a service will held.
