Obituary of Rosemary V. McAteer

Rosemary V. Roddy McAteer, 89, of Point Pleasant, passed away, Thursday, October 28, 2010 at her home. Born in Harrison, to the late Frank and Annie Roddy, she lived there and has lived in Point Pleasant for fourteen years. Before her retirement, Mrs. McAteer had worked for RCA, Harrison, for twenty-three years and also for the Engelhard Corporation, East Newark, for ten years. She was predeceased by her husband, John J. McAteer in 1960. Surviving are her daughter, Sharon Riley and her husband Robert of Point Pleasant; two sons, Kenneth McAteer of Waretown, and David McAteer and his wife Barbara of Brick; and one sister, Annamae Gaffney of Brick. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Robert, Jennifer, Michele, Kenneth, Michael, and Jessica; her great-grandchildren, Victoria, Michael, Connor, Madison, and Dillon; and by many nieces and nephews. Friends may visit from 1 - 5 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 31 at the Pable - Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 9:30 a.m., Monday, Nov. 1, a Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of Saint Martha, Point Pleasant, followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
