Obituary of Francis J. "Frank" Finn

Francis J. "Frank" Finn, 71 of Point Pleasant, passed away peacefully Saturday, October 23, 2010, at the Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach, Florida with his wife Patricia at his side. Born and raised in Jersey City, Frank attended Seton Hall Prep and Seton Hall University where he starred on the track team. After college Frank worked for American Can and relocated his family to Point Pleasant Beach. In 1969, he joined the Point Pleasant Beach Police Department and retired in 1994 after 25 years of service. He was inducted into the Seton Hall Prep Hall of Fame in 1996. Frank was a member of the Point Pleasant Beach Fire Company #2 for many years. He was a parishioner at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Point Pleasant Beach. He is survived by his wife Patricia, his children Melania (Tighe) of Point Pleasant Beach and her husband Kevin, Colleen (Woodburn) of Surprise AZ and her husband Matthew, and Frank Jr. and his wife Sherry of Point Pleasant Beach; three step children, Christopher Taylor of Point Pleasant and his wife Debbie, Michael Taylor of Toms River and his wife Joanne, and Rana Sargent of Greenville SC and her husband Jared. Frank is also survived by seven grandchildren, Rory, Brendan, Patrick, Daniel, Meaghan, Logan and Aedan and 4 step grandchildren, Jade, Raimondo, August and Helene. Frank is also survived by his two sisters, Kathy Pierce of New Brunswick NJ and Marianne Feeney of Randolph NJ. Relatives and friends may visit with the family from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m., Wednesday, November 17 at the Pable - Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 11 a.m., Thursday, November 18 a Memorial Liturgy will be celebrated at Saint Peter Church, Forman & Saint Louis Avenues, Point Pleasant Beach.
