Obituary of Louis E. Orost

Louis E. Orost, Sr., 85, of Brick, passed away, Sunday, October 31, 2010 at his home. Born in Bertha Hill, WV, to the late Joseph & Elizabeth Orost, he was a long-time Point Pleasant resident before moving to Brick six years ago. He was a U.S. Navy, World War II veteran and attended many USS Boxer reunions. For twenty-five years, Mr. Orost worked as a civil service electrician for U.S. Naval Station, Lakehurst, retiring in 1985. Lou was a member of the V.F.W. and was a former usher at Sacred Heart Church, Bay Head. He was predeceased by three sisters, Elsie Yancik, Madge Turozci, and Irene Strain. Surviving are his beloved wife of fifty years, Margaret Albiez Orost; his son, Louis E. Orost, Jr. of Brick; and his daughter, Margaret "Peggy" Becker and her husband Freddy of Mullins, SC. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Joseph & Lorraine Orost; three grandchildren, Ashley Lowenberg, Brenden Lowenberg and his wife Ashley, and Kaitlyn Orost; and by his caregiver, Giuli Tarlasuili. Friends may visit from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2 at the Pable - Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 10 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 3, a Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, Main Ave. (Rt. 35), Bay Head. Cremation will be held privately.
