Obituary of Frank W. Martin

Frank W. Martin, 84, of Point Pleasant, passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at Ocean Medical Center. Born in Jersey City, he became a life-long resident of Point Pleasant at the age of 5. Frank proudly served four years as a United States Marine during World War II, three years active combat in the South Pacific. He retired after thirty-two years with the U.S. Post Office; was an honorary life member of the Point Pleasant Beach Fire Company No. 2; and was a former policeman in Point Pleasant Beach. Our Frank will always be most fondly remembered as a supportive, loving, and caring friend, husband, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will forever be deeply missed by everyone. He was wise and honest as the day is long. He believed strongly in doing the right thing and respecting others. Frank never complained and always put others before himself. He always had a smile, a joke, and a helping hand ready to cheer and comfort us. Frank was predeceased by his mother, Nellie; father, William; and brother, Joseph. Surviving are his wife, Jane; siblings, George, Muriel, Mae, Pauline, and Florence; children, Jeff, Holly, Cheryl, and Lance; grandchildren, Jamie, Dana, Corey, and Erica; and great-grandchildren, Lochlyn, Kayleigh, Brayden, Michael, and James. No services are being held and cremation will take place privately. Donations made in his memory to the Deborah Hospital Foundation, Browns Mills, NJ 08015, www.deborahfoundation.org would be appreciated.
