Obituary of Marlin E. Stoner

Marlin E. Stoner, 84, of Point Pleasant, passed away, Monday, January 10, 2011 at his home. Born in Fayetteville, PA, to the late David & Gertrude (Eyler) Stoner, he was formerly of Colonia and Manasquan, residing in Point Pleasant since 1996. Mr. Stoner was a veteran of the United States Navy during World War II. From 1946 to 1966 he was owner/operator of Stoner's Esso, Linden, and later worked as a sales representative for Prudential in Metuchen, from 1966 until retiring in 1986. He was a member of the V.F.W., Post 4715, Point Pleasant Beach; the American Legion, Post 348, Brick; the Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge 1549, Point Pleasant; and the Manasquan United Methodist Church. Predeceased by his beloved wife Barbara in 2004, surviving are three sons, Raymond and his wife Terri of Clinton, Robert, and Ronald, both of Point Pleasant; his daughter, Susan Ulrich and her husband George of Point Pleasant; eight grandchildren, James, Donald, Timothy, Dawn, Chelsey, Brooke, Carolyn, and Taylor; and three great-grandchildren, Brandi, Gianna, and Sienna. A memorial service is being planned for a later date. Private cremation was arranged by the Pable - Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant.
