Obituary of Joseph Cittadino

Joseph Cittadino, 88, of Point Pleasant, passed away, Thursday, January 20, 2011 at Claremont Care Center, Point Pleasant. Born in Long Branch, to the late Anthony & Anna (Sacco) Cittadino, he lived there and also in Spring Lake Heights and has lived in Point Pleasant since 1982. Mr. Cittadino proudly served his country in the US Army during WW II. He worked as an electronics engineer at Fort Monmouth, Eatontown, and Camp Evans, Wall, retiring in 1982. For ten years after that he worked in maintenance for Saker Shop Rite, Wall. He was predeceased by two brothers, Raymond and Peter Cittadino and two sisters, Lena Addeo and Mary Daniello. Surviving are four sons, Jeff, Joseph, and James Cittadino, all of Point Pleasant, and Jon Cittadino (Nancy Brand) of Brick; his sister, Frances Gant of Long Branch; four grandchildren, Megan, Jennifer, Gianna, and Michael; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 26 at the Pable - Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 27, a graveside funeral service and interment will be held at Mount Carmel Cemetery, West Long Branch. Those attending the service may meet directly at the cemetery.
