Obituary of Charles R. Rola

Charles R. Rola, 84, of Point Pleasant passed away on January 26, 2011 at Ocean Medical Center, Brick. Mr. Rola, born in Puerto Rico, was an Army veteran of World War II, and moved to Pt. Pleasant 64 years ago. He married Carmen Pericas for a lifelong union of 57 years. He worked as a Supervisor for Jersey Central Power & Light, Allenhurst, retiring in 1987. He was a communicant of St. Peter's Church, Pt. Pleasant Beach and member of the Point Pleasant Elks Lodge #1698. He was a loving husband and dedicated father of two surviving sons, Dr. David Rola and Andrew Rola. He was also an avid painter and gardener. He was predeceased by his wife, Carmen in 2007. Surviving grandchildren are Nicolas Rola and Katherine Rola, and surviving siblings, out of five, are Fernando Rola and Alfred Rola. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the St. Peter's Church, Pt. Pleasant Beach on Saturday, February 5 at 9:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to St. Peter's Church, 406 Forman Avenue, Pt. Pleasant Beach, NJ 08742.
