Obituary of Emil F. Faugno

Emil F. Faugno, 77, of Point Pleasant, passed away, Monday, January 31, 2011 at the Meridian Nursing Center, Brick. Born in Jersey City, to the late Anthony & Christine (Ciribassi) Faugno, he lived there and has resided in Point Pleasant full time since 1970. At the age of 16, Mr. Faugno worked in heavy construction, on such projects as the George Washington Bridge, for Laborer Local 472. Later he entered home construction and fine carpentry and retired from Scotia Builders, Point Pleasant, as a Master Carpenter. He was an avid hunter and fisherman; member of the Bay Head Shores Property Owners Association and their Fishing Club; and communicant of Saint Peter R.C. Church, Point Pleasant Beach. Surviving are his beloved wife, of nearly fifty-five years, Charlotte Verdonck Faugno; his son, Anthony Faugno and his wife Lynn of Point Pleasant; his daughter, Maria O'Connor and her husband Jack of Point Pleasant; two brothers and sisters-in-law, John & Judy Faugno and Robert & Denise Faugno; five grandchildren, T.J., Katie, Bill, Emily, and Sean; many nieces, nephews, other family members, and dear friends. Visitation will be held from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 3., at the Pable - Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 11 a.m., Friday, Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Peter Church, followed by entombment at Saint Catharine Cemetery, Sea Girt. Mr. Faugno was very proud of his grandson T.J. attending medical school, so as an expression of sympathy, donations made to the Drexel University College of Medicine, PO Box 8235, Philadelphia, PA 19101, would be appreciated.
