Obituary of Joseph Shovlin

Joseph Shovlin, 86, of Toms River, passed away, Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at the New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home, Menlo Park. Born in Warrior Run, PA, he was formerly of Elizabeth and has lived in Toms River for the past thirty years. Mr. Shovlin was a United States Army, World War II and Korean War veteran and also was a retired union iron worker. He was predeceased by his wife, Rita, and by his son, Joseph. Surviving are many nieces, nephews, and their families. Visitation will be from 2 - 5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15 at the Pable - Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 9 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 16, Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Peter R.C. Church, Point Pleasant Beach, followed by interment at Saint Joseph Cemetery, Toms River.
