Obituary of Ruth Adele Magley

Ruth A. Magley, 89, of Point Pleasant, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at her home. Born in Irvington, she had lived in Maplewood before moving to Point Pleasant Borough in 1953. She was a long time member of the Point Pleasant Elks Ladies Auxiliary and was named Lady of the Year in 1979-1980. Mrs. Magley was a homemaker and avid gardener and loved being surrounded by her family at home. She enjoyed traveling to the Islands with her husband, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. She had many good friends that she spent countless hours lunching and with whom she played dominoes and traveled. Predeceased by her loving husband, Edward in 1995, surviving are two sons, E. Kenneth and his wife Merle and J. Russell and his wife Gail; three grandsons, Ryan, David, and Erick; and one granddaughter, Kelly Millar. She also leaves behind three great grandchildren, Jake, Lauren and Mckenna, and one soon to be born great-grandson, Dean. From 1 - 3 p.m., Friday, April 29, friends may visit with the family at the Pable - Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 would be appreciated.
