Obituary of Annamae P. Gaffney

Annamae P. Roddy Gaffney, 81, of Brick, passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2011, at home surrounded by her loving family after a 10 year battle with breast cancer. She was born in Harrison, NJ, and lived in Kearny NJ before moving to Brick NJ in 1995. She loved to decorate for all the holidays and was a communicant at Saint Dominic's Parish in Brick, NJ. Annamae is predeceased by her husband, James (Shimo) Gaffney, her brothers, Frank, Robert, and her sisters, Lucille Roddy, Rosemary McAteer and Ruth Huntington. She is survived by: her sons, James Gaffney and loving daughter-in-law Patricia, Stephen Gaffney and loving daughter-in-law Sarah, Daniel Gaffney and loving daughter-in-law Lynn, and her daughter, Doreen Barr and her loving son-in-law Charles. She had 11 grandchildren, Kelly Fonville, Marianne Edwards, James Gaffney, Ryan Gaffney, Owen Gaffney, Dillon Gaffney, Christopher Gaffney, Jonathan Gaffney, Coleen Barr, Christine Barr and Charles Barr along with 4 great grandchildren: Larry and Gavin Fonville and Alison and Austin Edwards. She loved all her many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 6 - 9 p.m., Friday, April 29, 2011 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 9 a.m., Saturday, April 30, a Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Dominic R.C. Church, Brick, followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. As an expression of sympathy, donations made in her memory to either the Saint Vincent DePaul Society at Saint Dominic Church or to Susan G.
