Obituary of Frederick K. Cortright

Fred K. Cortright, Jr., 78, of Brick, passed away, Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at the Meridian Nursing Center, Brick. Born in Newark, to the late Fred K., Sr. & Florence Liedeke Cortright, he lived there and also in Laurence Harbor and California. He has resided in Brick since 1963. Fred was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the US Air Force. He worked as sales representative for Dictograph, Florham Park, and for Intruder Alert, Lakewood. His passion was music and also had worked as a professional musician for various bands at numerous weddings and other events. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Joan and by two brothers, David & Karl Liedeke. Surviving are his son, Fred K. Cortright, III of Brick; his daughter, Faith Cortright of Philadelphia; two sisters, Helen Mertz Cortright and Virginia Amend; and many friends. Visitation will be held from 6 - 8 p.m., Friday, May 13, at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road.
