Obituary of Michael Jeremiah Flynn

Michael Jeremiah Flynn, 81, of Point Pleasant, passed away, Thursday, May 26, 2011 at Ocean Medical Center, Brick. Born in New York City, to the late Michael & Eileen (Sherlock) Flynn, he moved to Point Pleasant in 1959. He served in the United States Marine Corps form 1947 until being honorably discharged as a sergeant in 1952. Mr. Flynn was retired from Bank of America where he worked as supervisor of maintenance for twenty years. Prior to that he worked as production supervisor for Owens-Illinois, Holmdel, for twenty years and for ten years had worked for the Railroad Police, New York City. He was an avid reader; enjoyed traveling with his wife; and for many years bowled with the Tuesday Bankers Mixed. Mr. Flynn was a devoted communicant and Men's Prayer Group member of Saint Peter R.C. Church, Point Pleasant Beach. He was predeceased by his daughter Marjorie in 1996. A loving husband and devoted father, surviving are his wife, Patricia Bagan Flynn; two sons, Edward Flynn and his wife Melanie of Brielle and Gerard Flynn of Brick; two daughters, Theresa Snyder and her husband Al of Mosherville, PA and Catherine Sternberg and her husband Richard of Brick; two brothers, John & Terrance; two sisters, Eileen & Marie; five grandchildren, Amy, Beth, Audrey, Heather, and Kelly; three great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Baylee, and Carmen; and many dear friends. Visitation will be from 2 - 4 p.m. & 7 - 9 p.m., Monday, May 30 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 9 a.m., Tuesday, Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Peter Church followed by interment at Greenwood Cemetery, Brielle.
