Obituary of George E. Wright

George E. Wright, 83, of Brick, formerly of Point Pleasant, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at the home of his son in Toms River. Born in Spring Lake, to the late Francis & Amelia Wright, he had lived in Point Pleasant for most of his life. He was a veteran of the Korean war and served in the United States Army, Armored Calvary division, and was honorably discharged as a Corporal. George worked as sheet metal fabricator, retiring from Sheet Metal Workers Union Local No. 27, Farmingdale. He was a longtime volunteer fireman and founding member of Point Pleasant Borough Fire Company, No. 2 Surviving are his beloved wife, of fifty-nine years, Beverly Mikkelson Wright; his son, Mark A. Wright and his wife Margaret; and two grandchildren, Matthew and Megan. At 11 a.m., Monday, July 25, a graveside service, followed by interment, will be held at Emley's Hill Cemetery, Emley's Hill & Burlington Path Roads, Emley's Hill (Upper Freehold Twp.) There will be no calling hours and those attending the service may gather directly at the cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations made in his memory to either, Point Pleasant Fire Company No. 2 or to the Point Pleasant Boro First Aid/EMS, would be deeply appreciated.
