Obituary of Ann McGrail Shaughnessy

Ann N. Shaughnessy, 78, of Point Pleasant, passed away, Wednesday, August 31, 2011 surrounded by family. Formerly Ann McGrail, the youngest of eight, was born and raised in Highlands. She was a graduate of Red Bank Catholic High School. She has resided in Point Pleasant since 1966 and was employed at Point Pleasant Hospital and Ocean Medical Center, Brick, for over thirty years. She is survived by her beloved husband, of fifty-four years, Francis Shaughnessy; three daughters, Frances Daniels, Point Pleasant, Mary Jane & Joseph Russo, Point Pleasant, Grail and Gerald Harney, Toms River, and a son, James and Lindsay Shaughnessy, Rancho Santa Margarita, CA. She is also survived by her eight cherished grandchildren, Geoffrey and Matthew Daniels, Point Pleasant, RJ Otto, and Christopher Russo, Point Pleasant, Kayla and Jerry Harney, Toms River, Alexandra and Emily Shaughnessy, Rancho Santa Margarita, CA. Visitation will be from 2 - 4 p.m. & 7 - 9 p.m., Friday, Sept. 2, at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 9:30 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 3, Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of Saint Martha, Point Pleasant, followed by interment at Saint Catharine Cemetery, Sea Girt.
