Obituary of Patricia F. Kane Santoro

Patricia F. Kane Santoro "Pat", 77, of Brick, passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at her home. Pat was born and raised in Staten Island, NY and graduate of Sacred Heart School and Port Richmond High School. She married her husband and sweetheart of fifty-nine years, Andrew, and resided in West Brighton where they raised their three children. Pat graduated Staten Island Community College while pursuing a career with the New York City Board of Education, PS 45 and IS61. She was an avid reader, enjoyed cooking for her family, handwork, and fishing with her husband. Pat spent many vacations, camping, and boating in New York State and along with her husband Andy, traveled extensively throughout the world. In 1982, Pat and Andy moved to Daytona Beach, FL and lived there until 2008 when they relocated to Greenbriar, Brick, to be closer to their children. She was predeceased by her sweetheart, Andrew, who passed on January 5, 2011, and by her son, Anthony J. Santoro. Surviving are her son, Andrew E. "Drew" Santoro and his wife Cindy of Point Pleasant; her daughter, Patricia Curry and her husband Kevin of Point Pleasant; her grandchildren, Cristina, Andrew, and Michael Santoro, John J. Currado, Courtney Kane Magee, and Anthony Santoro; her great-grandson, John Paul Currado; her sisters, Helen Hettrick of Daytona Beach, FL and Margaret Borrazzo of Staten Island; and many dear friends. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m., Friday, Sept. 30 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 1, Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Dominic Church, Brick. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, donation made in her memory to Compassionate Care Hospice, 833 Route 37, W., Toms River, NJ 08755 would be appreciated.
