Obituary of Florence P. Kaska

Florence Powers Kaska, 95, of Brick, passed away, Friday, September 30, 2011 at Laurelton Village Care Center. Born in Orange, to the late Martin Stephan Powers and Florence Raab Powers, she was a long time Rahway resident and moved to Brick in 1982. Mrs. Kaska was retired from the City of Rahway where she worked in the Health and Welfare department. She was a communicant of the Church of Saint Martha, Point Pleasant, where she was a member of the Rosary Altar Society. Mrs. Kaska was predeceased by her husband, Charles and by two sisters, Melvina Matthews and Gladys Mink. Surviving are her son, Dr. Charles Powers Kaska of Yardley, PA; her granddaughter, Juliet Kaska; her niece, Anne Matthews; two nephews, Michael Matthews and William Mink; four grand nieces and two grand nephews. Visitation will be from 4 - 8 p.m., Sunday, October 2 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 9:30 a.m., Monday, October 3, Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of Saint Martha. Cremation and inurnment at Rahway Cemetery will be held privately.
