Obituary of Ruth O. Kieb

Ruth O. Gerhauser Kieb, 83, of Point Pleasant, peacefully passed away, Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at Meridian Nursing Center, Brick. Born in Newark, to the late Thomas & Gladys (Davis) Gerhauser, she was raised there and has lived in Point Pleasant for forty-three years. She retired from Ocean County National Bank where she worked as a clerk. Mrs. Kieb was a member of the Point Pleasant Municipal Alliance; the Coastal Care Givers; an avid knitter for The Seamen's Church Institute; and was a very active member of the community in general. She was a devoted parishioner of Saint Mary's By-the-Sea Episcopal Church, Point Pleasant Beach, where she was a member of the Altar Guild and for forty years, the Church Choir. Mrs. Kieb was predeceased by her beloved husband, William R. Kieb in 1981. Surviving are three daughters, Kathy-lynn Abrahamsen and her husband James of Lakehurst, Valerie O'Reilly and her husband Robert of Cherry Hill, and Kimberly McCourt and her husband Robert of Point Pleasant; her sister, Joan Cirone; two brothers, David & Paul Gerhauser; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 13 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 15 a Memorial Liturgy will be celebrated at Saint Mary's By-the-Sea Episcopal Church, Bay & Atlantic Avenues, Point Pleasant Beach.
