Obituary of Kathleen Hogan

Kathleen Decker Hogan, 91, of Point Pleasant, passed away, Friday, October 14, 2011. Born in Brooklyn, NY, to the late Joseph & Mary (Corliss) Decker, she was formerly of Bay Head and has resided in Point Pleasant for over sixty years. Mrs. Hogan was a retired secretary and for twenty years worked at the Point Pleasant Beach High School and later for the Point Pleasant Beach Chamber of Commerce. She was a devoted communicant of Sacred Heart R.C. Church, Bay Head, where she was a member of the Altar-Rosary Society and the Evangelization Team. Mrs. Hogan also served the parish as a CCD instructor, Eucharistic Minister, and secretary to the Pastor, the late, Msgr. William E. Maguire. Her sisters, Mary Decker and Eleanor Hogan predeceased her. Surviving are her son, Christopher McFeat and his wife Laura of Lynchburg, VA; three daughters , Kathleen Engelhard of Leesburg, FL, Patricia Thompson and her husband Jeff of Point Pleasant, and Judith Koehler and her husband Wayne of Brick; eight grandchildren, Alex, Emily, Jonathan, Phillip, Jeffrey, Mathew, Kimberly, and Ryan; and seven great-grandchildren, Devin, Kayla, Aidan, Matthew, Mathew, Kylee , and Jonathan. Visitation will be from 3 - 7 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 18 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 19, Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, Bay Head, followed by interment at Saint Anne Cemetery, Wall.
