Obituary of Nora B. Savage

Nora B. Nevins Rosenthal Savage, 89, of Point Pleasant, passed away, Friday, January 6, 2011. Born in England, to the late James & Anna Nevins, she was a long time East Orange resident, and has lived in Point Pleasant for twenty years. For many years, she worked at The Chanticler, Short Hills, as a server. Nora loved life, family, gardening, and antiques. She was even featured on the Antique Road Show. She was predeceased by her first husband, Richard Rosenthal; her second husband, James Savage; her sisters, Mary Byrne, Priscilla Riley, and Margaret Parkstrom; and by her brother, James Nevins. Surviving are three sons, Carl Rosenthal of Point Pleasant, Ralph VonRosendahl and his wife Paula of Verona, and Gary Rosenthal and his wife Jill of Brick. She was the loving grandmother of Suzie Rosenthal, Jason Rosenthal and his wife Jennifer, and Brie VonRosendahl; and is also survived by her brother-in-law, Bert Parkstrom. At 11:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 14 a memorial service will be held at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road, where relatives and friends may gather from 10:30 a.m. As an expression of sympathy, donations made in her memory to the Jersey Shore Animal Center would be appreciated.
