Obituary of Robert D. Haugh

Robert D. Haugh, Sr., August 31, 1941 - February 2, 2012, of Point Pleasant. Bob Haugh passed away Thursday, at the age of 70, with his wife and children at his side. He was born in Newark, NJ, grew up in Bricktown, and lived his adult life in Point Pleasant, NJ. During his life, he mastered many trades including welding, ship building and refrigeration repair. He was known for his concise and witty expressions of his political views in the local newspaper and his dry sense of humor. Bob was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, friend and community volunteer. Among his community service endeavors were: Pt Pl Republican County Committeeman, 29 yr active member of the Pt Pl Elks, a Pt Pl Planning Board Member, Coordinator of the construction of the Pt Pleasant Community Park Gazebo, Boy Scouting, and many others. He was predeceased by his parents James and Ruth Haugh of Brick, and brother, Dr. James Haugh of PA. Survived by his wife of 47 years, Sharon Lake Haugh of Pt Pleasant; his children, and their spouses, Holly and Anthony Ricci, Millersville, MD, Robert and Michele Haugh Jr., Point Pleasant, and Heidi and Stan Doblovosky, Point Pleasant, his sister, Nancy Gallagher, Brielle, and his brother, Wayne Haugh, Point Pleasant. He was adored by 11 grandchildren: Alison, Justin, Megan, and Sean Haugh, Pt Pleasant, Julianna, Tina, Noelle, and Jessica Ricci, Millersville, MD, and Katie, Anna, and Kevin Doblovosky, Point Pleasant. Visitation will be from 2 - 4 p.m. & 7 - 9 p.m., Monday, Feb. 6 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 7, a service will be held at the funeral home, followed by interment at Laurelton Cemetery, Brick.
