Obituary of Edward Vazquez

Edward Vazquez, of Point Pleasant Beach, NJ passed away, Wednesday, April 25, 2012. Edward Vazquez was born in New York City on June 8, 1929 to Edward Vazquez and Anna Pignatarro. He moved to Sayreville, N.J. as a child and graduated from high school there. He met and married Patricia Diestel in Sayreville and they remained together for nearly sixty-one years of marriage. Mr. Vazquez served in the U.S. army during the Korean conflict, stationed in California and the Southwestern United States. He returned to New Jersey and worked for over forty years as a mason contractor and union mason out of Locals 35 (South River, N.J.) and 5 (Asbury Park, N.J.). Edward and Patricia traveled around the world in retirement to Europe, the Middle East, South America and Mexico but truly enjoyed staying home in Point Pleasant Beach, N. J. in the house that Edward build for them forty-two years ago. They are survived by their four children: Edward of Washington, D.C.; Gregory of Gettysburg, Pa.; Jeffrey of Freehold, N.J. and Lynn of Point Pleasant Beach, N.J. Edward had three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. He was close to his sister-in-law Diane Jarusiewicz of Old Bridge, N.J. Visitation will be from 2 - 4 p.m. & 7 - 9 p.m., Friday, April 27 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 11 a.m., Saturday, April 28 a memorial will be celebrated at Saint Mary's by-the-Sea Episcopal Church, Bay & Atlantic Avenues, Point Pleasant Beach.
