Obituary of Grace Mary Trezza

Grace Mary Cocomazza Trezza, 89, of Point Pleasant, passed away, Sunday, May 27, 2012. She was born in San Giovanni, Rotonda, Foggia, Italy and came to the United States as a very young child. Grace was raised in Utica, NY, by her late parents, Michael and Antoinette Cocomazza and moved to New Jersey during her early twenties. During the course of her life, she worked as a federal and state civil servant, ending her career with the NJ State Office of Disability Determinations, Newark. She then retired to Point Pleasant. Grace loved classical music, opera, dancing, and was an avid reader. She was a communicant of Saint Dominic Parish, Brick. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert in 1962 and also by her brother, John; sister, Angelina; and brother-in-law, Ralph Vendetti. Surviving are her daughter, Georgette Johnson of Brick; son, Robert Trezza and his wife Mary of Lincoln Park; granddaughter, Gina Cece and her husband Gerald of Point Pleasant; sisters, Nancy Indolfi of Utica, NY, Jean Trombetta and her husband Joseph of Whitesboro, NY; and sister-in-law, Ann Cocomazza of Utica, NY. Also surviving are several wonderful nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews. Visitation will be from 2 - 4 p.m. & 7 - 9 p.m., Thursday, May 31 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 9 a.m., Friday, June 1, Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Dominic Church, Brick, followed by interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
