Obituary of Patricia Mary Schneider

Patricia Mary Schneider (O'Dea), of Point Pleasant, passed away peacefully at her daughter's home on Wednesday, June 13, 2012. Born on April 1st, in Irvington she grew up in the Vailsburg section of Newark and Hillside summering first in Green Island and then Mantoloking. She married and moved to Colonia, NJ where she was PTA President of School #17. The family moved to Point Pleasant where Pat was active in the Band Boosters helping to grow the Annual Craft Fair which continues today and chaperoning many trips under the direction of Mr. Ellicks. She was a gifted seamstress, knitter and had an eye for interior design; on Sunday you could find her doing the NYT crossword puzzle in pen. She and her husband Ed retired to Cambridge, Hobe Sound, Florida where she helped run the Fashion Show, organized the distribution of the community newsletter and the "lunch bunch". She was pre deceased by her parents James and Beatrice Cunningham O'Dea, her siblings William, Reginald, Elizabeth and Joan and her husband of 55 years Edward. She is survived by her daughter and son in law who cared for her for the last year of her life Lynn and Tony Faugno, Point Pleasant, her son James Schneider and his wife Kathy of Greer, SC, grandchildren Katie, Bill and Dr. Anthony (TJ) Faugno and his wife Elena, and Elizabeth and Victoria Schneider. Loving nieces and nephews Bill and Susan O'Dea, Dee and Gary Fulton, Jessica and Michael Fulton all of Florida , Debbie Goodwin of New Hampshire ,Lois and Jackie Lepore of Roselle Park and friends of 40 years Jim and Eleanor Henderson of Toms River. The family would like to thank the staff of Liberty Royal Rehab and Nursing facility Tinton Falls especially the Nurses of Unit 1, Administrator Mary Cannon and Phyllis for their kindness, love and care as well as the nurses and support staff and volunteers of Grace Hospice, especially Joan, Judy, Cathy and Joy for their care, compassion and support in the last months of her life.
