Obituary of John E. Spearer

John E. Spearer, 59, of Brick, passed away on Monday, April 11, 2016 surrounded by his family at Ocean Medical Center. He was born to the late George and Joan (Philipson) Spearer in Point Pleasant. He worked for Supreme Security for thirty-two years and was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and pop-pop. John was an avid camper and loved to travel with his wife and family. He had a contagious laugh and outgoing personality that would light up the room. John is survived by beloved wife of thirty-five years, Maureen (Suckey) Spearer; his loving children, Stacy and husband Duane Morgan of Bethlehem, PA and Ryan Spearer of Buffalo, NY; his sisters and brothers-in-law, JoAnn and Raymond Hilling and Cyndee and Gary Engelhardt, all of Point Pleasant Beach; as well as two grandchildren, Aubrey and Addison Morgan. John also leaves behind two brothers-in-law, John Suckey and his wife Mary of Wall and Ed Suckey of Brick; and sister-in-law, Kathleen Berrios and her husband Jaime of FL; and many nieces and nephews who he loved dearly. Visitation will be from 2 – 4 p.m. & 7 – 9 p.m., Thurs. Apr. 14 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 10:30 a.m., Fri. Apr. 15 a service will be held at the funeral home and followed by interment at Saint Mary of the Lake Cemetery, Lakewood. John was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in 2002 and was a cancer survivor of thirteen years.
