Kathleen & Bill, I was sad to hear about the passing of Chubby. Sorry I didn't know, I just read it this AM in the Oberserver. I remember him from going to Roosevelt through his passing. Truly a great guy who really cared about all!

My deepest sympathy to the family of Joseph Gray. My late husband, Dennis, always spoke so lovingly of his friend, "Chubby". I'm sure they are sharing a "cold one" in a really good place.

My most sincere condolences on the loss of such a kindhearted, warm man. I am one of the "Roosevelt" kids who grew up knowing Mr. Gray throughout school, and even if passing by when I moved onto middle and high school, he would always have a friendly "hello, how are you doing in school?" from him.
May he Rest In Peace. God bless his life.

I have fond memories of Mr. Gray from my days at Roosevelt School - and I am 64!!
He was so kind and friendly. He was sympathetic to sick children as he cleaned up after them. He always had a smile and a kind word. Just a good man.
Condolences to your family

" Chubby " as good a person as they come, always for his family. How fortunate am I to have called Dan, Lou, Chubby & John as cousins.
Summer evenings watching Chubby & John at Washington School field, playing for "the Trap " with Leo & Aunt Veenie in the left field stands. Lucky 12 year old me !

We are so saddened to hear of Chubby's death. He was a phenomenal person in life. What great times we had on Carter Avenue with the whole Gray family. Your parents welcomed us into your lives. We will never forget your Dad and Mom and all they taught us as newlyweds. I learned to cook and fold laundry correctly from Pat. Michael enjoyed an occasional beer on the porch with Chubby.
God bless you always.

I loved "Mr. Gray".He had such an impact on my relationships with custodians as a teacher (now practicing for 37 yrs.) I have strong relations with everyone who have aided me in preparing my classroom for learning. Mr Gray always greeted us, we knew he really had an interest in us by the way he treated us. I have brought him up in conversation s over the years. My prayers and thoughts are with all of you at this sorrowful time. Roosevelt Graduate/ attended ('64-69') .

Patti and family, We just heard of the sad news of your Dad's passing from my brother Larry. As you know Chubby and I were very close cousins in our earlier years. We were both in each others wedding. We were teammates in baseball, basketball, football and softball leagues on the old Mousetrap Teams. We shared many fond memories growing up and I will miss him very much. May all of your wonderful memories comfort you in the days ahead. Love and hugs to all of you, Cathy & Chud
