Obituary of Butchie (Harry A.) Durkin
Butchie (Harry A.) Durkin, 57, of Brick, passed away unexpectedly, Friday, October 19, 2018.
Born in Elizabeth he was raised in Toms River and lived in Brick and for many years in Point Pleasant, moving back to Brick six years ago.
Butchie worked as a self-employed general contractor and for the past four years as a project manager for Toll Brothers, Forked River.
He was an avid Harley-Davidson motorcyclist and H.O.G. Member. He also enjoyed golfing, sports, and the great outdoors. He loved spending time with his family and was a proud “Pop Pop” to his grandchildren.
Surving are his beloved wife, of twenty-three years, Bonnie; two sons, Wayne (Erin) Durkin of Brick and Joseph (Elicia) Salmons of Forked River; his mother, Kathleen Marchetti of Brick; and his father and step-mother, Harry and Terri Durkin of Lakewood. Also surviving are his three grandchildren, Wayne, Jr., Katelyn, and Joseph Austin; brother, John (Val) Durkin; two sisters, Cheryl Munroe and Alexina Tindall; mother-in-law, Jean Skoczen, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be 4 – 8 p.m., Wednesday, October 24 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 10 a.m., Thursday, October 25, a Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at Saint Dominic R.C. Church, Brick. Cremation will be private.
