Many, many years ago, in the early 50's we lived across the street from Dan and his family on Central Ave.. I remember spending many a summer day on his front porch with his dad, Frank. We were both very young and he was full of energy.
The incredible coincidence is that as I got up this morning I was reminiscing about the old days and the DiCorcia name popped up in my head so I decided to look them up never expecting to read that he had passed away recently.
My condolences to his family, especially to his sister Marylou who I remember well

To all Dan’s family we offer our condolences. For years he was a dedicated Point Pleasant Beach elected official, he was always a complete reference source for past sports events (including little league, going back 65 plus years), as well as a great story teller. Dan will certainly be missed.

From Dan's early neighbors at 802 Trenton Ave- Jim and Gail Bourque and sons Matthew and Michael loved being neighbors and certainly Matt & Micheal loved kid time (remember when kids played outdoors?) with Desiree and Dan. I (Gail) have a wonderful memory of Dan's birth when you posted a banner on the porch:
IT'S A BOY!
As lifelong, dyed in the wool Democrats from the blessedly BLUE state of Massachusetts, we always appreciated Dan's party efforts and affiliation. Being a Dem was pretty lonely in the Beach.
O God of grace and glory, we remember before you this day our brother Daniel. We thank you for giving him to us, his family and friends, to know and love as a companion on our earthly pilgrimage. We rejoice in Dan's eternal glory.

Dan was a veteran teacher when I started at MMS. He always took time to say hello and offer words of support, except for the time he burst into my room with a Halloween mask and scared the life out of me!!!! We had a good laugh over that!

Point Pleasant Beach has lost a beloved son. Dan was an exceptional human being who served his community for many years as the "Lone Democrat" on the PPB Council. It was an honor to call him friend. He remembered how much I liked black licorice and would often show up to the town hall to say hello and bring me a treat. That's just how thoughtful he always was.

So sorry for yours and my loss. Danny and I go way back to 4 years old and St Petersgrammar school. Our fathers went to St Peters together and played on the St Peters baseball team. I have great memories of our childhood and loved his mother and father. I remember Danny taking pizza to school for lunch in his pocket. There are so many great times and stories, I will miss him but never forget him.
RIP old friend I will pray for you.

My heartfelt condolences to the DiCorcia family and Helen. I was honored to serve on council with Dan where we sat next to each other for 15 years. I learned a lot from Dan and always considered him a dear friend. Dan’s love for his town was first and foremost and he never missed an opportunity to humor us with a well timed historical quote. I’ll miss Dan and I know our town is better for having had him as one of its leaders for all those years.

I want to wish my friend Daniel a fond farewell on his next journey. I hope heaven has all the fun things you enjoyed here. Please look over us and keep us close as we wait, to one day join you. I’m certainly going to miss you and all the simple things in life; especially our late night fireside chats. I’m glad I kissed you goodbye and shared a last joke. You always made sure you told people you loved them, and we all loved you. I know I’ll see you again. Goodbye my friend

Our deepest condolences to Helen, Desiree, Alice, Danny, Katie, Marylou and grandchildren! We were so blessed to have known Dan for so many years. He always brought a smile to our faces and laughter to all who knew him. He was a friend to my mother, sister, and to us since the time we came to PPB in 1973. He was dedicated to PPB, the Elks, the kids he taught and to those who loved him and knew him. He will be missed but never forgotten.
