Obituary of Chester J. Bonafide
Chester J. “Choppy” Bonafide, resident of Brick, formerly of Point Pleasant, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at Ocean Medical Center. He was 72.
Born in Neptune, he was raised in Brielle and graduated from Manasquan High School in 1964, where he was on the football and track teams. He served in the US Army National Guard during the Vietnam era. He worked for Trico Equipment as a heavy equipment mechanic for over twenty years, until his retirement.
Choppy had a larger than life personality and would gladly lend a hand when asked. He loved being outdoors, hunting, fishing, and was a huge Nascar racing fan.
Surviving are his sister, Eleanor F. Frank; brother, Dominic “Butch” Bonafide and wife, Marilyn; nephew, Donald M. Frank and wife, Lizabeth; nephew, Jeffrey J. Frank and wife Tiffany; niece, Gina Manson and husband, Dan; plus many great-nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Chester and Rita Bonafide; nephew, Dominic “Nicky” Bonafide; and brother-in-law, Donald G. Frank.
There will be no services and interment will be held privately.
