Obituary of Bruce E. Woodring

Bruce E. Woodring, 71, of Oakhurst, passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2020.

Born in Plainfield to the late John G. and Marion Woodring he was raised in South Plainfield and summered in Lavallette.  He lived in Point Pleasant for many years before moving to Oakhurst two years ago.

Bruce was retired from the United States Postal Service where he worked as a letter carrier for twenty-five years. Growing up, Bruce wrestled and played football.  He was a United States Navy, Vietnam era veteran and was a sports enthusiast.  He loved golf, NASCAR, and country music.

Surviving are two sons and four daughters, Rikki Jones and husband, Darrick of Souderton, PA, John Woodring of Point Pleasant, Samantha Woodring and fiancée, Daniel Votapek, of Point Pleasant, Sarah Williams and husband, Russell of Oakhurst, Jake Woodring of Point Pleasant, and Saige Woodring of Point Pleasant.  Also surviving are two sisters, Elizabeth Gratta and Jeanne Watson and husband, James; one brother, Joe Woodring; and six grandchildren, Alicia, Sawyer, Polaris, Nova Rae, Phoenix, and Reyna.  He was predeceased by his brother, John “Doc” Woodring and sister, Alice Bergamsco.

Visitation will be from 4 – 7 p.m., Thursday, October 22 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. (Facial coverings are required and adherence to social distancing will be in effect)
