Obituary of Linda Ann Englert

Linda Ann Englert, of Brick, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 8, 2021 at Shorrock Gardens in Brick.  She was born in Reading, PA on October 23, 1933 and lived in Brick for the last sixty years.

She was devoted to her career as a middle school teacher in Brielle, and after her retirement, continued her work advocating for shelter pets, acting on the Board of Trustees at Jersey Shore Animal Center and doing pet therapy at various nursing homes in the area.  Family was most important to Linda, and she loved bringing us all together from several states around the country for semi-annual family reunions.

Her husband, Richard Englert, preceded her in death in 2006.  She is survived by a daughter, Mary Kaye Bjork; a son, Rick Englert; and their respective spouse Alan Bjork and Valarie Englert.  She has two grandsons, Christopher and Eric Bjork, and one granddaughter, Eva Englert-Jessen.  She also leaves two nieces, Alicia Waid, Lydia Oberholtzer; and a nephew, Josh Oberholtzer.  The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at Shorrock Gardens for the excellent care given to Linda in the last year and a half.

There will be no visitation or funeral arrangements, but the family will attend a graveside service in Pennsburg, PA, at the Saint Mark’s Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in memory of Linda at your local animal shelter.
