Obituary of Virginia M. Zimmerman

Virginia M. Zimmerman, 92, passed away on Monday, October 11, 2021 at Willow Springs Nursing Center, Brick.

 

Virginia, known as “Ginny” by her friends, was born February 16, 1929 in Montclair to Richard H. and Louise (Endsly) Zimmerman and graduated from Bloomfield High School.

 

A long-time resident of Point Pleasant and most recently of original Leisure Village, Ginny was employed for many years as a bookkeeper, retiring from Jersey Shore Peterbilt.

 

Ginny was a member of the Point Pleasant Presbyterian Church, for seventy-four years and was active for over sixty years.  She served on the Board of Trustees, Finance Committee, was a charter member of the Bell Choir, and was also a member of the Chancel Choir for nearly sixty years.

 

Ginny loved God, her church, her country, her friends, her cats, books, crossword puzzles, and the Mets.

 

Predeceased by her parents; her sister, Carol Zimmerman; several dear friends; and her cherished pets, Emily and Rosie, Ginny is survived by two cousins.

 

At 11 a.m., Wednesday, October 27 a Service of Witness to the Resurrection will be held at the Point Pleasant Presbyterian Church, Forman and Trenton Aves., Point Pleasant Beach, followed by inurnment at the church Memorial Garden. (Facial coverings are required and adherence to social distancing will be in effect.)
