Obituary of Maureen Myers
Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Maureen Myers (McGuigan) of Point Pleasant, NJ, peacefully passed away in her home on May 28, 2022 at the age of 74. She succumbed to natural causes while embraced by her husband of fifty-three years, Joseph Myers.
While Maureen spent the last several years wintering in Connecticut and summering at her home in Point Pleasant, she was a Jersey Girl at heart. She was born and raised in Harrison, NJ. She moved to Point Pleasant in 1979 where she raised her three daughters. She worked in Manasquan High School’s cafeteria for over twenty years, where she was famously known to serenade students and staff for their birthday using her infamous kazoo!
Maureen’s greatest passion was her family. She devoted her life to her children and lived for her grandchildren. Maureen is survived by her husband, Joseph. She was the loving mother of three daughters. Janet Sutherland and her husband Rob (Middletown, NY), Maura Myers (Stratford, CT) and Erin Lichtenstein and her husband Colin (Fairfield, CT). Maureen was also blessed with eight grandchildren and one great grandson. Her grandchildren were the loves of her life. Maureen also leaves behind her sister, Midge Guckian, brother and sister-in laws, many cousins and several nieces and nephews. Maureen was predeceased by her parents John and Peggy McGuigan and her brother Rev. Pat McGuigan.
