


Obituary of James J. Tighe, Jr.
James Joseph Tighe, Jr., 67, of Brick, passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2023.
Born in Montclair to the late James J. Tighe, Sr. and Joan Maire Tighe, he grew up in Elizabeth and Point Pleasant Beach and graduated from Point Pleasant Beach High School. He has lived in Brick since 1978.
Jim retired in 2017 from Oyster Creek Generating Station, Forked River, where he worked in fire protection and utilities. He also worked as and EMT for Alert Ambulance Services, Lakewood.
He was an avid sports and outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, golfing, and going to the Point Pleasant Beach Inlet.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife of forty-five years, Karen Hildner Tighe; son, Adam Tighe and his wife, Danielle; and daughter, Jean-Marie Klimik and her husband, David. He is also survived by his sister, Marie Ellen “Missy”; brother, Kevin; four grandchildren, Reese, Owen, Graham, Jade; dear friends, Don and Judy and Dennis Horbelt; and family dog, Annie.
Visitation will be from 4 – 7 p.m., Tuesday, April 4 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 5 a Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at Saint Peter Church, Point Pleasant Beach.
