Obituary of Edward A. Elliott

Edward A. Elliott, 89, of Forked River, passed away, Saturday, September 15, 2012 at Ocean Medical Center, Brick. Born in Iselin, he lived there and also in Fords, Woodbridge, and Cobleskill, NY, residing in Forked River since 1996. He was a United States Navy, World War II, veteran and was honorably discharged as a Coxswain. Mr. Elliott worked in refrigeration for Kostas Ice Cream, Iselin, and retired Capital Management, where he worked as maintenance supervisor. He enjoyed football, model building, the Manasquan Inlet, Atlantic City, puzzles, playing the lottery, old western TV shows, reading newspapers, and watching golf. His passion was spending hours outdoors and inventing things from ordinary household items. Mr. Elliott was predeceased by his beloved wife, Anne Meehan Elliott and two sons, Edward and Richard Elliott. Surviving are his sons, Mark Kane and his wife Cori of Green Brook, Matthew Kane and his wife Jane of Clark; his daughter, Marian Asmonda and her husband Frank Malpeta of Point Pleasant; ten grandchildren, Kimberly, Ashley, Edward, Timothy, Taylor, Brooke, Erica, Danielle, Marissa, and Heather; five great-grandchildren, Brianna, Michael, Christopher, Jayden Michael, and Alexander Harley; and two daughters-in-law, Sue Elliott and Dorothy Elliott. Visitation will be from 2 - 4 p.m., Saturday, September 22, at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road, followed by a 4 p.m. service and US Navy honors.
