Obituary of Elizabeth Louise Hurley

Elizabeth Louise "Betty" Hurley, 84, Brick, passed away Tuesday, September 25th at home. Born in Point Pleasant Beach in 1928, Betty was a lifelong resident of Point Pleasant, moving to Brick in 1997. She retired in 1990 after 28 years as a school secretary with the Point Pleasant Board of Education. She was later employed by the Ocean County Library at the Beach and Boro branches. In earlier years, she served on the Pt. Pleasant Recreation Commission and on the Local Assistance Board as Welfare Director. She was predeceased by her parents, Louise and Henry Parker, her brother, Harold Parker, her husband, James Hurley and her daughter, Sandy Gonzalez. Betty is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Clark Lindstrom, brother, Will Parker, grandsons, Gary and Jason Eckert, Corey Gonzalez and Parker Lindstrom. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Frankie and Olivia Eckert and Jamie Wright as well as many nieces and nephews including her niece and caregiver, Mary Parker Burns. A memorial visitation will be from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., Monday, Oct. 1, at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road, where at 1 p.m. remembrances and prayers will be shared.
