Obituary of Nancy L. Irving
Nancy L. Kirby Irving, 75, of Point Pleasant, passed away Friday, March 8, 2013 at Burnt Tavern Center, Brick.
Born in Glen Ridge, to the late Douglas & Edith (Harson) Kirby, Nancy lived in the Point Pleasant area for most of her life and graduated from Point Pleasant Beach High School.
She was a 1962 graduate of the Anna May School of Nursing at Fitkin Hospital, Neptune, and her love of children led her into working as a pediatric nurse at both Point Pleasant Hospital and Christiana Hospital, Newark, DE.
Nancy was a member of Saint Paul's United Methodist Church, Bay Head, and served as an ambassador for the United Methodist Homes. She enjoyed Mahjong, going to Atlantic City, and knitting.
Surviving are her loving son, James A. Irving, III and his wife Tina of Point Pleasant; and two daughters, Joan Nelson and her husband Rob and Laurie Schollenberger and her husband Dave, all of Brick.
She was a wonderful and devoted grandmother to three grandchildren, James A. Irving, IV, Jordan Irving, and Andrew Nelson; and sister of the late, Joan Boaz.
Visitation will be from 5 - 8 p.m., Wednesday, March 13 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road, where at 7:30 p.m. a memorial service will be held.
