Sorry for your loss.
He and I worked together on the "pole truck" in the Johnston Avenue work center in Jersey City for a time as Linemen. I used to give him a ride everyday to work when I lived in the "heights" near him.
I remember he had a book with a whole bunch of numbers in it, and I asked him what it was, and he said he was trying to figure out the system to record the NJ lottery numbers so he could figure out the winning combination! I don't know if he ever did???

Dear Mrs. Clayton:
As we say in Jersey City, I'm sorry for your troubles. Your father was the greatest! We hung out together on Newark Avenue and I met your mother --Captain Deegan's daughter, right?-- back in the day. You could always rely on quiet Pat with that warm smile, terrific heart despite his sadness over his family as the poor DeMarcky's were terribly afflicted. Both parents and Mary sick with the drink. Tony was taken with the drugs. Margie was married at least 2 more times after Vanston. Rosemarie and Stevie were both institutionalized in Secaucus because of their slowness. You were really blessed with wonderful Pat. God be good to them all.
