I said goodby to you dad just the other other night in rehab where you were fighting us all the way but doing so well too. You said"I love you and not to worry I'll be a good boy" . God had another plan for you and mom. I only hope that he held your hand and you were not alone.
The storm took so much from you and mom ; home, health, max had to be readopted, your beloved water view, and your western channels, and so much more. We all worked hard to get you and mom home and had only 2 more weeks to go. So sorry dad..
I had so much fun with you dad. Island hopping for marlin,Fla., Bimini,Cat Cay,softball games with the islanders, diving for conch, tuna tournaments in Block Island, and partying at Ballards. My favorite times were getting all dressed up for awards dinners and christmas dinners for the Manasqan River Marlin & Tuna Club. They were the best!
You were always at my side throughout life and especially at my side after losing Scotty. You took care of Marjorie,Caitilin,& Shannon like they were your own daughters.I thank you for that.
Despite all your loses and declinning health you never complained while you were living with us.Each day was closer to going home, your view,tv,and your very own coffee pot to turn on at 2 am. I will miss the coffee pot "wars".
Tomorrow , we are fulfilling your request to have a party in your honor at your favorite resturant . Your family and close friends will be present to toast such a great man and dad. I'm sure your will be drinking one of your signiture "Bloody Mary's and enjoing the party from afar.
Don't worry about Mom she is the strongest women I have ever known and I'm sure you will agree.Your children and grandchildren will be here for her and I know you will take care of her from above while you fish the open oceans.
I love you dad and again so very very sorry .
PS. Give Scotty kisses and hugs from all of us and catch many giants.
All my love and forever,
Your daughter

I remember my Dad and Jack coming into the dock at Kings Grant Inn, now Crystal Point Yacht Club, and being too young to appreciate it then, but all we could do was hope they didn't come in with tuna...again...only because it meant tuna surprise by the end of the week...they never failed to 'bring em in'!!!
I have so many fond memories of fishing, snow mobiling and Block Island with Jack, Mo and that I am so glad I will have them to cherish.
In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always.
With our deepest sympathy.
Catherine and Billy.
