SISTER MAUREEN CHRISTOPHER LOUGHLIN Sister Maureen Christopher Loughlin, 73, a Sister of Charity of Saint Elizabeth, died Monday, July 29, 2013 while on vacation in Nashville, TN. The wake for Sister Maureen Christopher Loughlin will be held at Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road, on Sunday, August 4, 2013 from 2:00 to 5:30 p.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Martha Parish, Point Pleasant, NJ at 6:00 p.m. Burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery, Convent Station, NJ on Monday, August 5, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, NJ. For more information, visit their website: www.pableevertzfuneralhome.com Sister Maureen Christopher was born in Newark, New Jersey, the daughter of Frank and Loretta (McLaughlin) Loughlin. She entered the Sisters of Charity on August 20, 1958 and was a member for 55 years. Sister Maureen Christopher graduated from the College of Saint Elizabeth, Convent Station, NJ with a B.S. degree in Elementary Education. Sister Maureen Christopher was an Educator in the State of New Jersey. She served as a teacher at St. Lucy School, Jersey City; St. John School, Paterson; Holy Cross School, Harrison; St. Mary School, Dumont and Our Lady of all Souls School, East Orange. She was teacher and Principal at St. John School, Orange. She was the director of Religious Education in St. Denis Parish, Manasquan. She is survived by the Sisters of Charity; her sisters, Pat Perry (Frank) and Jane Fischer (Jim), her sister-in-law Agnes Loughlin and many nieces and nephews as well as members of the Casey family who have been very supportive. She was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Loretta Loughlin, her twin brother Frank and her lifelong colleague Sister Mary Xavier Casey.
