We are so sorry to learn of your loss. We enjoyed many a cocktail and cookie at Bowlby's beachfront. Those were the day's. We were in North Carolina or we definitely would have been by to give each of you a hug.

To all the family-- I'm very sorry I can't get to the viewing this evening. I would love to pay my respect and also see my old neighbors! Your Mom was one of the favorites these past years at the Zaninelli/Jordan parties. She was a whole lot of fun and we all enjoyed her there. I have great memories of the William Street house and when the addition was put on with the bar and the coins. Also your beachfront house in Squan. She was fun, full of life and loved a great party! We will all miss her. Mark sends his condolences too. When my Mom was alive, whenever the Lilacs were blooming in the yard and the smell was incredible, she would always mention how Loey Bowlby had Lilacs as her flowers for their wedding. It must have made had a lasting impression on her. I guess I heard it so many times that whenever I smell lilacs I think of that. Just wanted to write you all a note and tell you that all of you, and your Mom, are in my thoughts.

Manasquan Beach has lost one of the most remarkable and generous women with the recent passing of Lois Bowlby. " If you're Irish come into the parlor, there's a Welcome here for you." That about sums it up for the lady who not only welcomed all the lifeguards and their special friends, but then once again entertained their children as if they were her own grandchildren. To this day Keith will enjoy a good chocolate chip cookie with a beer. Your legend lives on, Lois. We will all miss your beautiful cheerful smile.

Dear Dineen, Mari, Megan, Ed, and Driscoll,
It is with great sadness that I read of your mothers passing. Some of my fondest memories are of living on William St. and being included in your lives. I still remember how you explained to me how long it took to polish all of that beautiful copper in the kitchen. I also remember how one year, my mother, sister, and myself had stayed in Manasquan and were walking on the "boardwalk" past your summer home, and your mother generously, invited us in to see your home. The memories I have are too many to list here, but just know that they are very nice....and a lot have to do with your mothers kindess for allowing the neighborhood children into your lives.....my deepest sympathies go out to you all...you are in my prayers.

"Mrs. B" was the greatest! We will never forget the fun times in Somerville, in Manasquan and at LBI with our Mom and Dad. There is one heck of a St. Patty's Day celebration going on today in heaven!
Our thoughts and prayers are with all the family at this difficult time.

I am so sorry to read of your mother's passing. I remember her well from Somerville and Manasquan. My Mom and Dad were very close friends of your grandparents, Sadie and Lewis.I always loved your Mom's famous Christmas cards.
She will be missed. I have lived in Manchester for the past 6 years. I never realized how close Lois lived to me or I would have visited her.
