Robert, We met in the summer of 1977 and for some odd reason we became friends. People said that opposites attract and thats how they looked at us. You were the wild one and I was not. You were always there for me no matter what. When my folks passed away, when I got Married and when I got divorced you were there. I hope that we will meet up again some day cause I will truly miss you.
Good Bye my
Best Friend

Bobby, All the memories, the dumpsters, the kitchen cabinets, your true concern to see if we would be happy together. Your love, your 60th, Vinnie's 70th, coming to the parking lot of the Idle Hour to tell us how you were doing. Your teasing, and your laughter is what you were all about. Your children are GREAT and your GRANDSON is special. We Love You and your family. We will miss you. Love Maryanne and Vinne.

My Dear Bobby,
We were so young so long ago,
Your childhood pain I did know.
Your strength and compassion won my heart and soul,
We were so young with a determined goal.
We were so young so long ago,
With so many miles yet to go,
When a new challenge brought your way,
Birthed your success known today.
Over the years your love blossomed for those now so dear,
I know your heart will always be near.
Your have raised fine men who will carry on this ride,
For your honor and worthy of their pride.
As old friends we did reunite,
With your sweet smile one class reunion night.
We laughed and reminisced over the thirty years gone by,
Now after forty one we say good bye.
Friends we did remain over the years,
And one day on your porch we both shed tears.
I hold dear this precious brief time,
My first true love was really mine.
Your greatest joy was to give,
And now an angel, you will always live.
I see you in the stars that shine,
Making the face of heaven so fine.
Yours forever, Marla

My heartfelt condolences to you- Nora, Justin, Jared and Dane. I know you loved him as partner and father. I loved him as my Uncle Bobby--a man I could always count on to tell his niece exactly what he was thinking, to tell it to me straight. More importantly, I knew him as the devoted brother to my Dad, who he could count on through thick and thin. As boys, they were insepearable, creating their own unique brand of havoc and mayhem in Pt. Pleasant. Life was hard for them and all of the De Forest siblings as they scraped and struggled to survive after the passing of their father as young children. I have no doubt that my Dad would not have it made it through those tough times without a brother like Bobby having his back. I am thankful to Uncle Bobby for being such a good brother to my Dad.
With Love,
Sheila De Forest

Robert, from the first day I met you when I was 15 years old, I have to admit, you scared me a little. The more I got to know you, the more I got to see the real you, the kind hearted, loving and determined man that you are. You have been there for me through the very worst and very best and will continue to hold that place in my heart. I will miss you and never forget you, but I can live happier knowing that you are no longer suffering from all the pain and agony you were in these past couple of months. Your Death leaves a heartache that noone can heal, but love leaves a memory no one can steal. I love you and words cant describe how much I will miss you. You do not have to worry about your family and friends here. You have raised 3 strong boys who will be okay. Everyone will be okay. All I ask is that you guide us all along our journey in life, and keep showering us with your love like you always have. In moments when we feel alone, we will look for you in our memories, and will easily find you. Everytime a tear forms in our eyes, we will look to heaven and see you. I love you Robert Deforest.

I approached him in his vehicle he gestured go away and kept going..I have never forgotton his kindness through all the years after. I see this through his sons as well..God Bless you Robert DeForest thank you for sharing your sense of humor through the years as well as your kindness.
