Obituary of Robert J. DeForest

Robert J. DeForest, 62, of Point Pleasant, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, November 5, 2011. He was the owner of the Robert DeForest Demolition Company, Inc., Point Pleasant. Born in Point Pleasant, Robert enjoyed the shore community for his entire life. He was predeceased by his parents, Henry & Clara DeForest, his brother, George English, and by his sister-in-law, Gail DeForest. Robert is survived by his loving wife, Nora Eller. He is also survived by his three sons, Justin and Dane, both of Point Pleasant, and Jared of Arizona; his grandson, Ethan Pearce DeForest; his brother and sister-in-law, Jim & Fran English of Howell, and brothers, Hank and Richard, both of Virginia. Also surviving are his sisters, Rosemary and her husband Phil Connell of NC, Eileen of West Caldwell, and Debbie of Eatontown. Robert was adventurous with a true zest for life. His never-ending generosity, and kindness were reflected in his treatment of family, friends, and quite frankly anyone in need. Hardworking and dependable, with a strong work ethic, Robert's legacy in the demolition business will carry on. Robert touched the lives of so many in his community, leaving him dubbed "The Unofficial Mayor of Point Pleasant." Robert DeForest: The man, the myth, the legend.
