As a childhood friend of his eldest daughter Emily, I will always remember Bill as a rugged individualist who built the home he lived in with his own hands, who espoused the values of "having an opinion" and thinking for oneself, which he reinforced over many happy dinners. Good example for a kid!

Dear Em,
Blair and I are so sorry we can't make it to the service to be with you and your family on Thursday. We were just reminiscing about all the fun times we shared with you and your Dad/family at your house during those high school summers. Who can forget hauling all that seaweed from the bay? The evening ocean swims, sailing the sneakbox, driving the VW bus to VT, dancing to the Beatles, (that's way too loud!), John playing the piano, (at the same time), your Mom's delicious bread and carrot juice, his passionate political opinions, attending St. Simon's by the Sea, his aversion to the Good Humor treats, tinkering in the garage on all/everything he found. We will miss his big smile, blue eyes and genuine interest and passion in all things. Best to you all at this time, Love, Lisa

Grandpa,
I will never forget the time we all sat around and watched all your slides from You and Grandma's trip to Europe. Your details of each slide portrayed such a beautiful, long and loving life. I could see those same shimmering youthful eyes, even in your latest years. I will forever miss you Grandpa Billy, you are always in my heart. Thank you for all of the wonderful opportunities you have brought my way and I will do my best to make you proud. Love you so much Grandpa, I wish more than anything I could be there with the family celebrating your amazing life. Love your grandson,
-Nyasha

I'll never forget the day I met Bill Wesson: he was standing on Bryn Mawr College's green, wearing knickers, with that enormous, infectious, trademark smile of his, encouraging Cynthia to talk to me as I seemed to be 'a nice girl'. In the ensuing 37 years I rarely saw that smile leave his face, even in times of strife. He had the delightful ability to see the humor in most situations, and he brought a real 'joie de vivre' everywhere he went. To quote Albert Einstein, someone he very proudly once met: 'A person starts to live when he can live outside himself.' Bill Wesson most definitely lived! I will miss him greatly, but he will forever remain in my heart. My love to the entire Wesson family, Kathy

He knew me all my life since he was one of my father's oldest and best friends. He and his family were steady part of my family. He introduced me to the importance of fresh juice, especially carrot juice, and how to make it in a heavy juicer - long before it was mainstream. Thanks Bill Wesson, safe journeys

Back in the early 70's I worked for Bill @ Burton, Dana, Westerland. One morning I overheard a conversation between Bill and someone (whose name now escapes me). The other person asked Bill "was that you on Hwy 35 this morning picking up a Kohler toilet on the side of the road?" Bill replied "That wasn't me picking up a Kohler toilet-that was an American Standard" Another memory was of a 1958 VW Bus that I purchased from Bill for $100.00 Every proper hippie needs a VW Bus! It ran for a short time! I wish I had it now! So many stories- so little space. Some people you will never forget. Bill is one of them.

Mr. Wesson was one of the first to greet me as a newcomer to St Mary's 10:00 service. He was kind and attentive, making sure my toddlers and I felt welcomed. I am certain that he was influential in making all who came through St Mary's doors experience the sense of inclusion that St Mary's is known for. My deepest sympathy to his family for their loss.

Bill always had a smile and hug for me. I enjoyed seeing him and speaking with him at church. His presence at church, especially when it became difficult, was a testament to his Faith and love for St. Mary's. I am glad I knew Bill and I will miss him. God bless you, Bill, and all your family.

I can still see Bill's smile as I remember the tales he told me of years gone by. He was especially happy when he spoke about the time he flew under the Pulaski Skyline Bridge! What a fantastic image that brings to mind.
He will be sorely missed by all. My heartfelt condolences to his entire family.
