Maureen was an absolute source of joy for us (Jane, Jen/Mam, Jim, Bob & Pat ) since the very first day (circa 1957) - that she and Jane became the best of Holy Family friends.
Maureen was there at Jane's death bed, on May 6th 1960, with Jen and Francis (Moose) Malloy - Jan's beau. She continued comforting, continually, for the next half century
Maureen , in 1970 , when summoned by my mother to come to the emergency room - Jumped in front of /did not allow this emergency room physician to treat Jim with an injection that would have killed him. In doing so: Maureen gifted all of us - 32 more years with Jim.
On the event of my (Bob's) First Holy Communion (cerca 1957) - my mother (Jen/Mam) was rightfully worried that I wouldn't make the trip from 8th Street to St, Andrew's 4th street without some calamity striking my white first holy communion jacket. She approached Maureen who responded that she would see to it that I got to St. Andrews. Twice I tried to bolt - but M. Had a firm grip on me, and to the amazement of my mother - Jen - I arrived unsoiled. Maureen was from then on considered the doer of miracles.
Maureen brought years of absolute joy to us, and she was there, always.
